ABOUT US:

Hughes & McHugh was founded in 1989 in Baillieston. Our focus on offering our customers the very best eyecare was successful and we opened a branch in Lanark in 1995. Our expansion continued and our Airdrie branch followed in 1997 with our Uddingston branch opening in 2002.

We are a small independent company who pride ourselves in being the family opticians. We care for the very young through to the more mature customers. We really look after their eyesight by investing in the latest technologies such as OCT imaging which we have had in the company since 2006.

Hughes & McHugh now employ nine optometrists, six of whom are qualified Independent Prescribing Optometrists, and two more are in training. This means that we can prescribe and treat certain eye conditions in practice.

We believe that we offer the best possible eye care for our customers. During the current coronavirus outbreak, like many other High Street outlets, we have been advised by the Government to open for emergency care only.

However, please be assured that we will still arrange to see patients should they have any of the eye problems as outlined above.
